Prostate (BPH and Prostatitis)
Prostate problems such as BPH (benign prostatic hypertrophy), chronic prostatitis, and chronic pelvic pain syndrome, are routine Urologic conditions. Most patients can be treated conservatively with medication. We offer minimally invasive treatments such as UroLift (http://urolift.com/). Some patients have more advanced obstruction and may need to have their prostates surgically opened (ie. TURP or “roto-rooter” surgery).
The treatment of kidney stones has progressed greatly over time due to the improvement and refinement of machines to fragment stones in the kidney (ESWL or extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy) and with the use of flexible telescopes to pulverize stones that are caught in the tube that drains urine from the kidney to the bladder (ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy). After the stones are treated, most patients may want to know why they form stones and we investigate this condition by obtaining urine sampling over a 24-hour period.
Incontinence (“Bladder control”)
While incontinence is more common in women, men can also experience troublesome urinary leakage. Dr. Sussman is fellowship trained in all aspects of urinary incontinence. We utilize medications and conservative treatments in the majority of patients; however, some patients may not respond to these modalities and require minimally invasive intervention. Urgent PC
(http://www.cogentixmedical.com/urgent-pc) is a form of percutaneous nerve stimulation that is carried out in the office setting. Dr. Sussman also performs in-office Botox injections for overactive bladder and has affiliations with institutions performing Interstim (http://www.everyday-freedom.com/women/).
Dr. Sussman has performed thousands of minimally invasive vasectomy procedures in his office using essentially pain-free techniques. A small opening is made in the scrotal sac and both vas deferan tubes are transected through that one opening. The procedure typically takes 20-25 minutes and patients are encouraged to take it easy for a few days. For further information, please visit www.lasvegasvasectomy.com.
Dr. Sussman treats all aspects of this Urologic subspecialty including: Erectile dysfunction (ED), ‘Low-T’ (hypogonadism), premature ejaculation, and performance issues. We utilize medications (ie. Viagra) and other modalities. During your evaluation, our clinic will also evaluate your overall health and screen for other conditions that may affect your sexual performance.
